My gf and I both got our iPhone 8 Pluses together in Jan 2018 through Verizon - same exact phone, both new, not refurbished.
Now that the phones are 2 years old what turned out not to be the same was the way we charged our phones. She made a constant habit draining her phone all the way down to below 5% (or often letting it die) then plugging it in to charge to 100% overnight. What I did on the other hand rarely let my phone drop below 30% and never charged it past 80-85% unless I had a full day somewhere, in which case I’d go the full 100%. I utilized my car charger and wireless charger at work to keep it between 30-85%.
After checking, her battery health is at 84% and seemingly always dealing with dead phone issues. Mine came in at 93% after 2 years. My battery is reliable and doesn’t seem as low as 93.
I know there’s a lot out there on this subject, it’s just my personal experience and it’s good info for anybody curious about how their 8 plus will hold up or how much of an impact charging habits can have.
