What is the most effective way to bring a suggestion to the attention of someone at Apple who can include a new feature in an upcoming iOS software update for the iPhone?

I cannot be the only person who uses the iPhone Maps for a GPS who sits the phone in a landscape orientation on the platform against the tachometer. Whenever my screen locks, it switches from landscape to portrait orientation.
